Jonathan’s research focuses on the globalisation and clustering of financial and professional service firms. Recent projects have explored global talent mobilities in reproducing the competitiveness of financial centres; the role of FinTech ecosystems and financial services clustering in the competitiveness of the City of London and U.K. city regions; and sustainable business travel in reconfiguring low-carbon urban economies. Jonathan is currently working with FinTech West and Stuart Harrison on the future sustainability of the Bristol and Bath FinTech cluster and the enablers required to ‘scale-up’ to a globally competitive regional centre for financial technology.
